Bachelor thesis by Lara Benke

by Raschid Abdel Aal

In cooperation with the Institute of Chemical Process Engineering, Lara Benke, a student of environmental protection technology, is carrying out her bachelor's thesis at our company. Her research focuses, among other things, on how evaporation behaviour can be characterized. She is using various techniques such as pressure measurement, mass spectrometry and thermography.

By taking a thermal image of the vaporized surface, she can draw conclusions about the stability of the vaporization based on the shape of the vaporization cone. The diagram shows the stable evaporation of our total evaporator. The low-pulsation evaporation results in a candle-shaped profile on the surface.

In the defense of her thesis on 06.06.2024 she presented the results of her thesis to several interested listeners.

Cooperation with LightPulse LASER PRECISION

LightPulse uses ultrashort pulse lasers to work surfaces on a nanoscale. A wide variety of structures can be processed with this precise tool. The properties of the surface can be changed in a targeted manner. For example, laser-generated structures can be used to make a steel surface water-repellent (hydrophobic).
